THIS IS HOW I TRY TO LET PEOPLE SEE ME. I TRY REALLY HARD TO LOOK ALL PUT TOGETHER, JOFUL, HAPPY. BUT IS IT TRUE? IS WHAT THE OUTSIDE OF THIS BOX WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON THE INSIDE? IS IT PRETTY AND LOVELY INSIDE?
IS THIS BOX SOMETHING I CAN HONESTLY PLACE AT THE THRONE OF GOD AS A TRUE AND PURE OFFERING?
THIS BOX IS FULL, HEAVEY EVEN. BUT WHAT IS REALL INSIDE?
LET’S BEGIN TO OPEN IT.
FIRST I HAVE TO RIP AWAY THE PRETTY BOW AND PAPER.
THAT’S HARD, BECAUSE THEN EVERYONE WILL SEE THE RAWNESS AND ULGYNESS OF WHATS UNDERNEATH.
AS I TEAR THIS PAPER AWAY, WE FIND AN OLD BEAT UP BOX. ITS BRUSED, ITS ULGY, IT CAN BARELY STAND ON ITS OWN. IT’S EVEN HELD TOGETHER WITH TAPE.
NOW LETS SEE WHATS INSIDE.

IT’S YUCKY IN THERE. UNFORGIVENESS, HURT, PAIN, HATE, SANDESS, LONLEYNESS, SINFUL, UNLOVELY, ULGY, DIRTY, SHAME, UNWORTHY, ANGER, GUILT, UNLOVEABLE…..
BUT IF I WANT TO GET TO THE HEART OF THE BOX, IT NEEDS TO CRUMBLE. NO ONE WANTS TO CRUMBLE. BUT I NEED TO GET TO THE HEART OF THE BOX, SO IT MUST COME TO ITS END.
THERE, NOW THE BOX IS EMPTY! WELL, ALMOST EMPTY.
ONCE I AM OPEN AND HONEST ENOUGH TO UNPACK ALL THAT JUNK, AND TRULY LAY IT ALL OUT AT THE THRONE OF GOD, I CAN THEN ALLOW HIM TO HANDLE EACH ONE. THEN I KNOW HE CAN AND WILL WASH AWAY AND EVEN BURN UP ALL THOSE THINGS I KEPT INSIDE.
NOW, WHATS COULD POSSIBLY BE LEFT IN THIS BOX?
FORGIVENSS, HOPE, GRACE, MERCY, LOVE, PEACE, AND A LITTLE FLICKER OF LIFE, A LIGHT!
THERE IS THE FIRE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, AND IT BEGINS TO WARM MY COLD HEART, HEAL THE WOUNDS THAT WERE LEFT THERE, BRING ME COMFORT IN MY SADNESS, AND NEVER LEAVE ME LONELY.
THIS FIRE IS IN EVERY BELIEVER! THIS PASSION CAN HELP TO BEGIN THE HEALING OF THE PAST. TO SEE HOPE!
THIS FIRE WILL BRING WHOLENESS-CHANGE!
AND ONCE THIS FIRE IS FANNED BY GOD, IT WILL BE SET ABLAZE! I WONT BE ABLE TO CONTAIN IT, SHOOT, I WONT WANT TO CONTAIN IT! AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENES TO A FIRE THAT IS NOT CONTAINED? IT SPREADS!! THEN WE WILL SEE OTHERS CATCH THIS FLAME!
OUR FRIENDS, OUR SPOUSES, KIDS, CO-WORKERS, FAMILIES WILL BE CHANGED, WILL BE SET AFLAME! AND WILL BE TRANSFORMED INTO WHO GOD CREATED THEM TO BE. THIS FIRE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, IS SO POPWERFUL, WE WONT HAVE TO PREACH, IT WILL BE BY OUR ACTIONS, OUR DEEMENER, AND HOW WE FACE LIFES STRUGGELS, THAT’S WHAT OTHERS WILL SEE! THAT’S HOW THE FIRE SPREADS!
DOESN’T EVERYONE WANT THIS? I DO!
